IMPORTANT TRAVEL NOTICE

With effect from 26 July 2026, all eligible travelers visiting Sri Lanka for tourism must obtain Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) before arrival.

Nationals of the 40 eligible countries, including Japan may obtain a free 30-day tourist ETA, but prior online approval is mandatory.

Sri Lanka–Japan Discussions on Cooperation in the Graphite Sector

The Sri Lankan delegation held discussions with Mr. Yorimitsu Watanabe, President of Nippon Graphite Industries Co., Ltd., and Mr. Midori Hatsukano, Executive Director of the Carbon Association, to explore opportunities for cooperation in the graphite sector.

The discussions highlighted Sri Lanka’s high-quality natural graphite, renowned for its exceptional purity, with carbon content reaching up to 99%, and its potential for value addition and industrial applications.

Representatives of Margosa Graphite Ltd. and Bogala Graphite Lanka PLC also participated in the discussions.
