Ambassador Attends Global Sports Inclusion Symposium in Japan
On October 2, H.E. Prof. Pivithuru Janak KUMARASINGHE, Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Japan, attended the "Global Sports Inclusion Symposium" at the invitation of Mr. Tsutomu Takebe, Chairman of NAGOMi (National Association for Global & Open Minded Communities). The event was also attended by Mr. Asanka, a key player on the Sri Lanka national baseball team who currently plays for the Saga Asia Dreams, along with team manager Mr. Yoshihito Katsuki. The Saga Asia Dreams, established in 2024 as an associate member of the Kyushu Asia League, brings together players from various Asian nations—including Sri Lanka who live and train together in Ureshino City, Saga Prefecture. The symposium featured a keynote address by Mr. Takeshi Okada, former manager of the Japan national football team, followed by presentations from practitioners on community revitalization and multicultural coexistence through sports.
