200 Japanese Tourists Depart for Sri Lanka in a Single Flight

A group of 200 Japanese tourists, organized by the Little Japan Group, departed for Sri Lanka today on SriLankan Airlines Flight UL455, marking a significant milestone in Sri Lanka–Japan tourism relations.
H.E. Prof. Pivithuru Janak Kumarasinghe, Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Japan, together with First Secretary (Commerce) Mr. Sandun Sameera, met the group at Narita International Airport and saw them off ahead of their departure for Sri Lanka. The group is expected to visit major tourist sites in Sri Lanka such as Sigiriya and experience Ayurveda treatments.
The visit was organized by the Little Japan Group, with the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Japan extending its support, guidance and facilitation in connection with the visit.
During the interaction, Ambassador Kumarasinghe warmly welcomed the group and congratulated them on their journey to Sri Lanka. He expressed his appreciation to the visitors for the trust and confidence they have placed in Sri Lanka as a tourism destination and wished them a safe journey and an enjoyable and memorable stay.
The Ambassador noted that the travel of 250 Japanese visitors to Sri Lanka on a single flight represents an encouraging development and one of the largest organized Japanese tourist groups travelling to Sri Lanka together. He expressed confidence that the growing interest among Japanese travellers, together with the continued efforts of the tourism industry and relevant stakeholders, will contribute to Sri Lanka’s tourism sector surpassing its previous tourist arrival figures.
